11. Film Name

We decided to brain storm some ideas for a potential name for our film, which we would then create a questionare for audience research in order to establish a name that is effective and so its not subjective to both our tastes.


We first decided to think of some themes of our film so the name would reflect this:

• Loosing control
• change
• growing up
• revenge
• grief

we decided that we should look at other words for revenge that we could potentially use:

• Justify- the name makes you think of reason why to do something
• Justice

We thought another word that sums up the way our main character is feeling is Purgatory because it means halfway between earth and heaven, and shes in between grieving and denial.


This is what the questionnaire looked like..

Stoyline.

Nice working class girl age 17. (hero) in a rough area, good relationship with single Mother (stereotype of the working class) and Brother aged 18. The area is run by gangs and violence and neither of the siblings are involved with the gangs (villains) but are regularly taunted by them at school. She then loses her brother to a gang murder. This causes the younger sister to break and feels that he wants justice for her brother, there for is out to get the girlfriend of the gang leader who killed her brother. She tries to deal with the grief by taking drugs, alcohol and partying. The ending comes to our hero killing the rival gang leaders girlfriend and it ends when she’s charged with murder.

The majoriy chose retribution. Therefore we decided this will be the name of our film. Retribution is the act of punishing or taking vengeance, something that's served, comeuppance, something given or demanded, especially punishment. Seeing as this is one of the main themes in our film we felt it appropriate.
